The study of the physiology is essential for several university courses: propaedeutic to the clinical disciplines, has as its main objective the understanding of the functioning of living organisms at all levels of biological organization, from the molecules to the systems through the integration of concepts acquired in other basic subjects. This work was performed maintaining a balance between the two cores in which the physiology is traditionally divided, that is the cellular physiology and the organs and systems physiology. In particular, the book proposes an integrated view of the physiological processes. The graphic layout and the structure of the book have been designed to encourage and stimulate the student’s educational path. Each chapter is preceded by a graphical summary and tables to immediately understand the content and organization. Within each chapter, the various topics are structured in sections introduced by a brief but detailed summary.
