NeuroMuscular taping (NMT) is a technique in which adhesive strips are applied over and around muscles in order to contain and support them and to prevent excessive muscle contraction. Although it may look like traditional bandaging, NMT is based on a different philosophy where the aim is to ensure freedom of movement so that the muscular system can heal itself bio-mechanically.

In fact, this technique, while providing support, guarantees free range of motion and thus allows the individual to carry out any kind of physical activity; at the same time it prevents fatigue and excessive muscle contraction and promotes efficient lymphatic drainage 24 hours a day.

This book sets out the theoretical basis and different methods of NMT: adopting a mainly didactic approach, it analyses, step by step, NMT of different anatomical parts through a series of very detailed and clear colour photographs.

Potential readers – Specialists in physical medicine, rehabilitation specialists, physiotherapists, nurses, orthopaedic technicians, motor sciences graduates, trainers.
